What is Popular Article Ranking?
The popular article ranking is the daily ranking of blog
articles belonging to the official genre. It will be the ranking within the
genre by the official genre unit. There is no ranking for the entire Ameblo.
Since this ranking is for each article, it is possible for multiple articles to
be ranked from one blog.
However, this popular article ranking is a ranking that has
many mysteries and it is difficult to guess the aggregation method.
Announcement ranking up to 1000th place
The ranking is ranked from 1st to 1000th for 1 day of 1
article. Rank 1001 and below are out of range. You can check your ranking on
the blog management screen if your ranking is within the top 1000. There is no
display for out-of-range.
You can see all your articles ranked up to 1000th place
There are multiple aggregation elements
The number of accesses is not the only aggregation method. It seems that ranking is done by aggregating multiple factors. I presume that there are four elements, but the relative weight is not clear. However, it is certain that the number of accesses is the biggest factor.
1. Number of accesses 85%
2. Number of likes 5%
3. Number of comments 5%
4. Number of reblogs 5%
There is no basis for the numerical value of each element.
Ameblo pinned comment
Articles with many "likes", "comments",
and "reblogs" will have fixed comments on the popular article ranking
page.
Comments are as follows.
Popular article comment
Even if there are more than three, there is only one fixed
comment. It's not clear how many will get this pinned comment. Since the number
of "likes" with fixed comments varies greatly depending on the genre,
I think it is highly likely that the ranking will be based on the relative
ranking of the top three articles during the aggregation period, rather than
the number. Looking at the popular article ranking page, there are quite a lot
of fixed comments, but once this comment is attached, the fixed comment will
remain attached until it falls out of the ranking range.
Just because there are many "likes",
"comments", and "reblogs" does not mean that there are many
accesses. In particular, "Like" and "Reblog" cannot be done
without an account, so it is not a standard for measuring the number of
accesses of readers who are not logged in to Ameba.
Is the collection period flexible?
Next is a guess about the aggregation period.
The aggregation period is not from 0 to 24 hours. The
ranking is announced around 8:00 every morning, but it doesn't seem to be the
tally for the previous day.
Understanding this aggregation period is a very important
factor in aiming for the top ranking. This is because if all the time periods
with the most access are not included within the aggregation period, the
aggregated figures will be distributed over two days. For example, let's say
there were 10,000 PV in 3 hours after the article was published. If this goes
over the aggregation period, 5,000 PV and 5,000 PV will be counted and
aggregated on separate days, resulting in half the number of accesses. The
number of likes and comments is the same.
Then, the totals are not clearly understood from what time
to what time are the totals calculated. At least it's not a zero-hour
separator. My guess is that it switches between 20 and 24 hours. It may
not be the same every day. Therefore, I think that there is no doubt that it
will be released after 0:00 in order to be included in the total period. Peak
access is said to be between 7:00, 12:00, and 20:00-23:00. For that reason, I
think that it is important to publish between 0:00 and 6:00 in order to aim
for a high ranking in this popular article ranking.
Why isn't there a 0-hour separator?
In the case of theme-specific genres, the content of the
article will be checked by the staff, and if the content does not match the
theme, it will be excluded from the ranking. There is a possibility that this
staff will check the content of articles, so it may not be possible to collect
data during the fixed collection period of 0:00 to 24:00.
I don't know what about articles that don't have a staff check, such as dairy genres, because they haven't been investigated that far.
The guideline for ranking is hundreds of PV in popular
genres and dozens of PV in other genres. If you do not rank in the ranking with
more than 1,000 PV, it may be excluded by the staff check. In addition, it may
be ranked as one day late or two days late.
Even if the number of accesses exceeds 10,000, it is not
necessarily ranked high. Anyway, it's a mysterious ranking.
To aim for the top
It is important to adjust the publication time to aim high
in this ranking. Overall rankings and genre comprehensive rankings are
aggregates of the number of accesses for the blog as a whole, not aggregates
for each article. Since all articles are targeted, there is almost no impact if
they are published at the same time every day. Therefore, if you don't care
about the popular article ranking, I think that the article publication time
should simply be before the time zone when access increases. However, in order
to aim for a high ranking in this ranking, it is necessary to include all of
the access peaks in the aggregation period. I think that it is good to publish
the article as early as possible in the morning.
